| Meet Our Team of Scientists | |
| Advanced Coherent Technologies, LLC (ACT) was formed in 2006 with the goal of building and demonstrating low-cost, multi-channel imaging systems. ACT has spent the last few years highly focused on generating a series of programs all associated with these systems. A phased implementation approach is used to create synergy among existing programs in order to provide superior products at lower cost. | |
| Jon Schoonmaker | |
| Founder and Principal Scientist Mr. Schoonmaker has worked in all aspects of multi- and hyper-spectral imaging systems including test planning, ground truth, system design and assembly, as well as performance evaluation. With 15 years of experience in government programs at SPAWAR, in addition to 6 years in private industry on acquisition programs such as COBRA and ASTAMIDS, Mr. Schoonmaker has a wealth of experience and expertise to draw upon. Mr. Schoonmaker holds a BS in Physics from University of Oregon, Eugene. |
|
| Tracy A. Moore | |
| Founder and President/CEO Prior to founding ACT, Ms. Moore worked in database management and in the development and maintenance of accounting system products for nearly 20 years. She has designed and ported high volume accounting systems responsible for monthly billings in excess of a million dollars. Ms. Moore holds an MBA in Management from San Diego State University, and a BS in Information Systems from San Diego State University. |

| Gary Gilbert PhD | |
| Founder and Principal Scientist Dr. Gilbert has more than 44 years of experience in hydrological and ocean optics. He has worked on most of the Naval optical MCM and ASW programs in laser and passive optics over the last four decades. He was the ONR Ocean Optics program manager and has authored and co-authored more than 80 papers and reports in the field of military hydro-optics. Presently he is continuing work on the theory and use of underwater and maritime multispectral and polarized light in ASW and marine mammal detection. Dr. Gilbert’s broad and lengthy experience in the field of underwater optics has proven quite beneficial in arriving at optimal approaches while avoiding pitfalls that would beset the less experienced. Dr. Gilbert holds a Ph.D. in Applied Ocean Science from Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California, San Diego, an MS in Engineering Science from University of California, Los Angeles, and a BA in Physics from University of California, Berkeley. |

| Joe Dirbas | |
| Founder and Principal Scientist Mr. Dirbas has over 15 years experience working in the fields of image and signal processing for radar and electronic imaging systems. Mr. Dirbas’ experience includes the design and development of real-time data acquisition systems and real-time processing of remote sensing data to detect targets of interest in the sea and on land. Mr. Dirbas has many years of experience collecting and analyzing hyper spectral and multi spectral data in support of US Navy and US Army programs. Mr. Dirbas has provided technical and business management of the PAR Government Systems Corporation San Diego Technology Center and performed program management activities under a variety of efforts. Mr. Dirbas holds an MS degree in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Fullerton and a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University. |
